Test for Hiring Staff Accountants

The Staff Accountant Test is designed for hiring staff accountants in public accounting firms.  The candidate would not yet be at CPA level, but could include those with a degree in accounting, those working towards CPA membership or those with no formal qualifications but whose work experience and job categorizes them as staff accountants.

Staff Accountants are those whose role is entirely focused on the monthly or annual financials.  They sit at a level separate from Bookkeepers (who are more involved in processing transactions).

This test covers four core staff accounting activities:

  • Double Entry Accounting (Dr's & Cr's)
  • Practical Application of Accounting
  • Financial Statement Review
  • Accounting Concepts

Gain insight into candidate's skills and knowledge in each of these four activities, as well as a comparative overall score and performance against a norm group of other similarly qualified accountants. You can also identify a candidate's performance in the activities most relevant to your vacant role.
